Urinary catheterization, especially in females, presents numerous challenges, from maintaining sterile technique to visualizing and identifying the urethra amidst varying anatomical factors. Our device addresses these challenges by providing a hands-free method of labial retraction, allowing nurses to focus on catheter insertion without compromising sterility.

FUNCTION
Lankenau Ventures collaborated with Tanara Boursiquot, a registered nurse at Main Line Health to develop our innovative catheter placement device. The AccuCatheter offers a clear view of both the urethra and vagina, facilitating accurate catheter placement. With the labia securely retracted, nurses can use both hands to manipulate the catheter, ensuring safe and precise insertion.

MEET OUR INVENTOR

TANARA BOURSIQUOT, RN
Tanara Boursiquot, RN, is the inventor of the AccuCatheter. The idea for the product came to her because she and her colleagues would struggle during catheterization procedures, especially on female patients, to accurately visualize the urethra for proper catheter placement.
The AccuCatheter enables more efficient, sterile, and precise urinary catheterization.
